A quiet, realistic family drama that follows Shu-Fen, a single mother who moves to Taipei with her two daughters to rebuild their lives by running a small noodle stall in a night market. As they struggle to survive in a cramped apartment, the film explores everyday hardships such as financial insecurity, emotional distance, and generational conflict. Shu-Fen’s younger daughter, I-Jing, is left-handed, a trait viewed by her grandfather as ominous due to his superstitious beliefs, while the elder daughter, I-Ann, takes on adult responsibilities by working at a betel nut stand. Burdened by debts and her sense of duty toward her estranged husband’s medical and funeral expenses, Shu-Fen faces mounting pressure. Long-suppressed tensions and hidden truths finally surface during a family banquet, where relatives and outsiders gather, forcing the family to confront their beliefs, sacrifices, and fragile bonds.
