April is a drama written and directed by Dea Kulumbegashvili that follows Nina, an obstetrician working in rural Georgia. Despite legal restrictions, she secretly helps women seeking abortions, guided by her personal ethics and commitment to care. When she is accused of medical negligence and placed under investigation, Nina is forced to confront social judgment, legal pressure, and moral scrutiny. The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, where it received the Special Jury Prize.
